Learn how to ride on a board towed by a boat

Wakeboarding is a towed board sport

Wakeboarding is a water sport that emerged in the 1980s, combining techniques from waterskiing, snowboarding, and surfing. Towed behind a motorboat (or on a cable in a wake park), wakeboarding delivers sensations similar to kitesurfing, surfing, windsurfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and other extreme water sports.

Wakeboard Lesson Overview

How lessons work At Monki, you will be towed behind a motorboat on a twintip, a surfkite board, or a kitefoil board. Wakeboarding is used as a teaching tool in kitesurf instruction. It allows riders to experience their first real board sensations and progress in learning the waterstart—without dealing with kite control. By separating kite control from board handling, we can adapt the learning process and focus in detail on the crucial waterstart phase, regardless of your kite skills. Mastering kite control takes time…and patience. With wakeboarding, you can focus entirely on the waterstart, body position on the board, and gliding on the water. And another major advantage: we are far less dependent on weather conditions!

Discover New Boards

What if you tried foiling? Or tested a Tiki or Kilaïa-style board? Wakeboarding is ideal for discovering and learning new boards: foil boards, strapless surfboards, Tiki boards, and more. If you want to speed up your learning process, towing can be the perfect solution. Less dependent on wind, instant feedback, intensive and shorter lessons—these are some of the advantages of this teaching method.
